 Atlético Ciudad 4 - 1 UD Lanzarote

 Monday, February 9, 2009
UD Lanzarote were in Murcia to face Atlético Ciudad de Lorquí on Sunday (8 February) for week 24 of the Segunda Division B group II.

The home side were the stronger during the opening minutes, however as the minutes passed Lanzarote got back into the game and looked dangerous on the counter-attack. Gustavo Sousa opened the score for the home-side on the half-hour - the culmination of a swift counter attack.

Lanzarote didn't take long to react though, and were awarded a penalty just seven minutes later when Vladimir was taken down in the area. Jonathan Torres converted the penalty and levelled the tie. Aitor hit the Lanzarote post shortly afterwards, but the score remained 1-1 at the break.

Lanzarote made a good start to the second half, but unfortunately went down to ten men in the 56th minute when Vladimir received a second yellow card. Atlético took advantage of their numerical superiority and scored three times (Juan Carlos, Gustavo Sousa and Martín Ortega) to finish the match with a decisive scoreline.

Lanzarote remain in 12th position in the Segunda Division B Group II table.

Atlético Ciudad: Zapata, Joaquín, Alcántara, Mikel Méndez, Juan Carlos, Abel Segovia (Iker Rodilla 75), Manolo ( Aid Slimane 46), Aitor, Félix Prieto, Martín Ortega y Gustavo Sousa (Javi Chino 90).

UD Lanzarote: Miguel, Ángel Gil, Noé Padrón, Francis Hernández (Fran Barrios 63), Adrián Martín, Jotha, Vladimir, Rubén Rodríguez, Ayoze Pérez (Toñito 70), Maciot, Jonathan Torres.
