 Atlético Madrid B 6 - 0 UD Lanzarote

 Monday, January 26, 2009
Lanzarote suffered their worst defeat of the season away to Atlético Madrid's B-side on Sunday (25 January).

An effective Atlético scored twice in the opening half hour, before Lanzarote's coach, Carmelo Hernández, made some tactical changes with the introduction of striker, Tońito. Unfortunately Atlético made it 3-0 just moments later with a goal from Guerra.

After the restart, Lanzarote attempted to lift their game and when Jonathan Torres was awarded a penalty it looked as if there was a ray of hope. Unfortunately, De Gea saved the penalty for the home-side - it was not to be Lanzarote's day.

Didi made it 4-0 in the 66th minute and Lanzarote went a man down 10 minutes later when Tońito received a second yellow card. Two further goals in the dying minutes from Rubén Ramos ended a bad day for the Rojillos.

The result drops Lanzarote to 13th position in the Segunda Division B Group II.

Atlético Madrid B: De Gea, Aitor, César, Domínguez, Jaime, Rubén (Aitor, 74), Koke, Keko, Molino (Rabén Ramos, 74), Claudio, (Didi, 49), Guerra.

UD Lanzarote: Miguel, Ángel, Derwin (Tońito, 29), Adrián, Rubén, Francis, Óscar, Jhota, Vladimir, Macior (Ayoze, 84), Jonathan.
