Lanzarote received Madrid-side, CD Leganés, in Arrecife on Sunday (18 January) and secured a valuable point against the group leaders. Leganés made their intent clear by dominating the opening minutes of the encounter, however Lanzarote soon found their way back into the game with the first half ending nil-all with few real chances for either side. The visitors were reduced to ten men when Reyes received a second yellow card for a foul on Maciot in the 51st minute. However, despite their numerical advantage, Lanzarote were unable to find the winner and the match finished 0-0. The point means that Lanzarote move up to eleventh position in the Segunda Division B Group II with 26 points from 21 games.
